Hi Mary, please don´t take the dog with you! It would be great if you can reach the top off the everest but if something happens to you it is your own choise! Your dog is sweet and deserves to have a good old day, just like you have! good luck with you advanture! |

Dear Mary, I have read your plan and am very concerned about your expedition. You make no mention of packing a small bit of chocolate for a sacrifice and a celebratory bottle of champagne for yourself (and Daisy, if she wishes) on the summit. Although I realize this may add considerably to the weight of your pack, I think that it is imprudent to go without. The gods may not think you are serious about reaching the top if they notice you do not have these requisite items. I hope to meet you at basecamp. P.S. I don't know if Daisy has met Biscuit (the American Jack Russell terrier who has been in a number of rock climbing films...and is very cute, by the way), but I'm sure he'd like to meet her. It's so hard to meet female climbers, you know. |

Hi dear Mary, I'm a Dutch-Mexican living in Monterrey, Mexico. I was born in Holland but I've been living in Mexico for about 20 years.. In this guestbook I see some negative comments from people about your idea of climbing the Everest. Don't let these comments get you down, your plan sounds great and I'm sure that with the right precautions you will make it, and I'll admire you more than now! GOOD LUCK! Tons of love, Evelyn |

I'd make sure your will is in order. The good news is you can use daisy as a walking meal. If she doesn't make it you can dine on a fresh bit of meat. |

Crying with laughter, this has made my day! I adore your movie with daisy in the carrier bag - great stuff! Love to you and Daisy from the Granadan Mini Smooth Dachshunds - Always ready to cheer on a hairier branch of the family!!! |

I highly advise you reconsider. You are essentially asking the world to watch you commit suicide. Your dog will for sure not make it due to terrain, lack of warmth, and lack of oxygen. I must also advice that people in their twenties have died attempting to reach the peak. These people train for months in an effort to reach their goal. Just because you walk up some hills and climb over rocks does not make you prepared to climb everest. Not trying to crush your dreams, just being realistic, and don't want to see you get hurt. Perhaps try a much smaller mountain (ie hiking a ski resort) then move on from there. goodluck. |
