During my successful expedition of 1941 i found that it could get a little chilly from time to time. I therefore think that you should give your Damart catalogue a serious browsing. |

I suggest taking a couple of empty R Whites lemonade bottles with you. That way, if the thin Himalayan air becomes a bit of a problem, you can open a bottle and have a breath of proper Greenfield air. Daisy, being that much closer to the ground, shouldn’t have any problems. Be sure to keep hold of the bottles so that you can get your sixpence back! Very best of luck. |

Mary, I did Everest last Saturday night with a few mates, we were bored after the pubs shut so thought what the hell lets just go and have a ramble up Everest. However we took the easy route but only camped for 20 mins at each site. As Martyn states you should think about taking a packamac, I know it's extra wieght but it will come in handy if it starts to rain as can certainly be the case on the way up..but I'm told it really rains on the way down so that's good. You should also take poo scooper for daisy ... you know little accidents do happen and it's a long way back to the doggy toilets. Finally, don't forget your Bino's the view from the top is brilliant I think you can see Botley hill on a clear day. |

mary, you represent everything that is great to be british! i'm so proud of you and everything you hope to achieve. I find it shocking that the wretched BBC have failed to highlight your training in their reportage programmes. they never blink to show johnny foreigner and the great things they might be up to around the empire, so one would think they could manage to fly the flag. i wish you the jolly best of british - raise that flag and god speed. |

Wow I am so amazed that you are going to attempt this challenge. You go for it!! It wont be easy at all but it will be such an experience. I know people my age (19) that hate to even walk up the little road i live on for it slopes too much, so I am going to make them look at this website! Take care and have fun and take some starburst fruits to eat on the way (but remove excess packaging first, no need to take them out on the hills), always satisfies me on a mountain trek! :o) |
