Mary, won't you marry me at the top? You will recognize me by my Blue Suede Shoes. Daisy is Nothing But a Hound Dog, but I Love Her Tender, I Love Her True. E |

All I can say is WOW and GOOD LUCK!! In all seriousness, I hope you make it, but most importantly that you make it back to tell us the tale... |

You know I have no doubts that you will get there. I have to admire your spunk. Whats the worse thing that could happen. Well lets see you could die. Well since its happens to all of us at least you will die trying. Like Garth Brooks says " I could have missed the pain but I would have had to miss the dance". Maybe we should all take a page out of your book. Cheryl |

Bonjour Marie, I am myself going for a (smaller) summit this spring in Nepal (Mera Peak). Reviewing your equipment list I have realised I had forgotten a very important item in mine : The Foot spa recommended by Madrudge !!! Usefull, light and it is so relaxing with a feet massage and a beer on the summit. I have been living in England for 2 years and I must admit I am more and more addicted to British sense of humour (including Benny Hill, Little Britain...) You guys are so hilarious (shit my ancestors must be turning rounds in their tombs). As we say in France to say good luck : "Merde". JFM |

The last time i took my dog to the peak of mount everest, her tail got frost bitten and fell off, so make sure you knit a tail warmer for daisy, and dont fly any kites up there cause you will probably get hit by lightning, im from canada and we have mountains so i know a thing or two. just thought i would pass this knowledge along. Good Luck

Dear Mary Hell...I've never had this much fun following the everest climbing news and I make it an annual event. This has been a fabulous workout for my lungs as I can't stop laughing. I think I'm ready to join you!! I have a silver toy poodle called Lucy. After we race for the summit let's jump on that bus and keep going to the moon! Go girls ! |

Martin & I are guides in the US and we both know that you can make it. You are only extending the current trends of lighter and faster alpine style ascents of a new route. Everyone is doing it. You don't even have to reach the summit if you don't want to only go up a few feet and say that you have finished the hard part and therefore the new route is complete. Oh yes, remember to take pictures so that no one can say that you didn't really make it. Leave some equipment there to prove your passing, maybe attach your shopping cart to the summit. Also if you write a book about your ascent remember that someday some other author (that had nothing to do with the climb, and may never have even seen the mountain) may write another book stating that is the true story of the ascent based on the recollections of the forgotten and previously neglected team member Daisy. Or Daisy may write a book herself telling how if it wasn't for her you wouldn't have made it at all, being that she had to fix the ropes and short roped you, .... Anyway wlecome to the brotherhood of the rope. |

Dear Mary, You definitely seem to be very fit and strong for someone of your age. However, having summited Everest myself last May, I can say that climbing Everest even by the normal route is not a walk in a park. Having taken a look at your trainings and expedition planning, I seriously hope that you know what you are getting yourself into. All the best and please be safe. |
