Lovely Mary, This is the most hilarious thing I've seen all week! You've made my day! Did your grandkids help you make this site? Hopefully, you're a kidder, but IF you're serious, you (& not your dog) can go for it! Prove that older people still have the jewels to do what they set thier mind to. Go out with a bang, but please leave your poor Daisy behind. Daisy is so fragile & young...her lungs will collapse or she will freeze to death. When you get back you can show her picturtes & bring her a rock or something. Leave the TV on for her so she can see your ascent. If you're joking, like I think & hope you are, do it right & ask for money to rent expensive camera equipment to take along so that you can have practice to be a reporter when you turn 90. Afterall, it's always been your dream, hasn't it? Also don't forget to let my dear mother's pet parrot, Andy, join you on your journey. Tropical birds love mountain climbing! |

Dear Mary and Daisy, I'm very excited for you two. Will you be wearing that skirt on the climb? If so, you'll definitely need some matching earrings. You musn't get caught at the top of that mountain looking half dressed! How clever of you to curtail all that pesky camping. You will save you oodles of time, time which can be better spent practicing the 8 essential steps of the Tango. Oh, If you remember could you pick me up some kind of souvenir from the tourist shop? I think there's a nice one at the top of Everest. (Please don't let Daisy select it, I don't think she understands my taste in plastic tacky things.) Thank you and Best of luck, Julie |

Hi I thinks its a really good thing that you are choosing to do this but your direct route I really dont think is a good idea. I mean you are making it evident that you can do rock climbing and theres going to be some sheer faces to go up and those will be covered in ice. I really think that you should go up the route that every one else goes up that way it would be safer and most probably quicker than attempting to scale ice faces. Regards |

Mary, Why do you wanna get yourself killed by doing this? No one with the age of you ever made it by this short way. Don't try it and with the money of the sponsors go to a Old Humans house or something and do something usefull there like climbing the stairs :P I will follow this site when you are in the Mountains. Have a great time killing yourself. |
